Conference & Convenings Manager

Hiba is Race Forward’s Conference and Convenings coordinator, co-leading Facing Race. A National Conference presented by Race Forward; a unique collaborative space for racial justice movement making, Facing Race is the largest multiracial, inter-generational gathering for organizers, educators, creatives and other leaders. Over the years, she has worked with social and racial justice organizations involved in education development, and economic empowerment such as the Urban League, and South Brooklyn Youth Consortium. She is passionate about youth empowerment and instilling arts to bridge the gap between the arts and racial justice.
While she has a dual Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology, Hiba enjoys her convening people around the nation to push the racial justice movement forward. She recently launched her own dance fitness class, Vibe to Fit, created to empower people of color to get active and upkeep a healthy lifestyle while having fun doing so. Initiative to combine the arts and health for demographics that is underrepresented in the health community. In her free time, she enjoys working out, traveling and spending quality time with family and friends.
Hiba lives in the heart of New York; Brooklyn, where it’s seldom quiet and never boring. When she can Hiba travels to her parents native country, which she considers home; Sudan. During her trips to Sudan, she finds time to meet and help orphanages, and shelters for kids. Hiba is an active member in Hope of Sudan, an initiative dedicated to seeking justice for women and children who face harassment and rape in Sudan. Hiba finds her peace in prayer, modern dance sessions and reading.
