General Counsel
Beth L. Williams joined Race Forward in October 2021 as the organization’s inaugural General Counsel. In this role, Beth provides comprehensive in-house legal services to the organization that include advice on corporate governance, contracting, compliance, personnel matters, and development of organizational policy. Prior to joining Race Forward, Beth served as the Deputy Director of Legal Services at the Vera Institute of Justice, Guardianship Project. Beth also managed tenancy defense practices for direct legal services organizations in New York City. Beth began her career at Lowenstein Sandler, where she served as the Alan V. Lowenstein Public Interest Fellow. A native of Arkansas, Beth graduated magna cum laude from the University of Arkansas with a B.A. in Philosophy and obtained her J.D. from Boston College Law School.
